BabyHayes

John & Kate are expecting — and on the long edge of summer, we'd love to share an afternoon with the friends who make us a family.

I.The Invitation

We are expecting a small new neighbor, and we'd like to celebrate quietly with the people we love most.

There will be conversations on the porch, drinks poured slowly, and an afternoon that drifts gently into evening. Come for an hour, or stay until the porch lights give way to stars.

Children are welcome. Dogs are welcome. Mac — our soon-to-be big brother — will handle the door. Bring nothing but your good company; a small note for the baby would not be turned away.

I½.The Big Brother

First, please meet Mac.

He is the unofficial host, the official greeter, and the original Hayes baby. He has been practicing his “big brother” bandana for months, and would like very much to say hello.

If you'd rather not be greeted at the gate by an enthusiastic German Shorthaired Pointer, just let us know in your reply and he will take a polite nap upstairs.
